Carleton and the Big Wheel have been nominated for an ECMA award! The band’s debut album has been nominated for “Rock Recording of the Year” at the 2010 ECMAs to be held in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Congratulations to all the nominees !

Hey folks! Just a quick update to keep you in the Big Wheel loop!
The band had a very successful weekend at Nova Scotia Music Week! The band’s showcase received very positive reviews and some great connections were made for the coming months. The entire showcase was recorded by Scope Digital Media and the video will be released in the coming weeks for everyone to see. Congratulations to Joel Plaskett and The Stanfields for taking home the two awards which the Big Wheel were nominated for! Both very deserving recipients!
This weekend sees Carleton and Piano Man performing at the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in downtown Sydney! This is an ECMA sponsored event and is free for the public to attend. The festivities kick off at 6 PM on Friday, November 27th. Later in the evening, Carleton will drag the party over to Governor’s Pub to play a benefit for prostate cancer. Show starts at 11 PM!
Saturday, November 28th will see Carleton take the stage for a Songwriter’s Circle with good friends Jay Smith (Matt Mays, Rock Ranger) and Steve Fifield. Show takes place at Governor’s Pub and starts at 10 PM. Hope to see you all there!

Carleton Stone Drives the Big Wheel has been selected to showcase their talents at the Rock Stage at ECMA 2010 ! The event will take place in the boys’ hometown of Sydney, Nova Scotia this year so expect a out-of-control few days! Both Rock Showcases will take place at Smooth Herman’s Nightclub and Lounge on Friday, March 5th and Saturday, March 6th. More info to come soon!

Hey folks! Carleton will be performing at the ECMA press conference Tuesday, October 27th in Sydney. Showcasing artists for next year’s ECMAs will be announced. The conference takes place at 10 AM at the Capri Club! Kyle will be joining Carleton for the performance and it will be recorded by Shot On Site Media! Hope to see you there!

Carleton and company have been nominated for two Music Nova Scotia Awards! The four day long event is set to take place in Yarmouth on November 5 -8. The Big Wheel’s debut album is nominated for “New Artist/Group Recording of the Year” as well as “Pop/Rock Artist/Group Recording of the Year”. The band is against some stiff competition so keep your fingers crossed!

Hey all! Quick reminder of some shows this week. Thursday night, Carleton is doing a solo acoustic set at the Black Diamond in Sydney with his good friends Rosa. Show starts at 10 PM!
Friday night sees the return of The Big Wheel to Smooth Hermans in Sydney. This will be the first show since their CD release show on July 3rd, so expect a party! Up-and-coming band Anchor Heist will be opening the show. Anchor Heist is the new band from ex-Tom Fun Orchestra guitarist Zach MacLean. Expect to be impressed.
Saturday sees the Big Wheel’s first trip to the west side of Cape Breton with a show at The Hoff in Inverness! Apparently the crowds in Inverness come out to party, and you can assure that the boys will bring it. Show start at 10 PM!
Busy weekend for the Big Wheel! Hope to see you out at some of the shows!
